I got my curls back! |
Digiperm seems to be a very hot trend over the past few years. I noticed though, that perming is not as popular as it was two to three years ago. It may be the reason why the sytlist asked me awhile ago why I am getting a perm.
I have been curling my hair since 2006. Why? Because I look better with curly hair. My uber straight hair just does not seem to agree with my noticeably round face.
I have tried a number of salons. I never found the perfect one. Until last March. That's why when I needed a perm, I went back to that salon awhile ago.
Before. My losyang hair. |
This was my hair before I had it permed awhile ago. I know, it's straight and soft. But it's boring. I had it permed last month but because it has been eight months, my hair needed a little updating.
As I've said. I have been through a number of salons over the past nine years. I've tried both traditional and digital perming but I was never satisfied.
I first had it permed at a family friend's salon. It costs 600PHP. And yes, it was bad. The product that they use smells awful. I hated the way it looked. I even had to wait for six months before it achieved the look that I want.
Then I tried traditional perm at Bench Fix Salon (Php 1,700). It was okay. But it also dried my hair out. Because it was traditional perm, I also had to wait three-six months before I got what I wanted- the big, wavy curls and not like those that look like pancit canton.
I eventually tried Azta in Alabang Town Center (Php 5,000 with treatment). It was the best perm I've ever had. Problem is, I made the mistake of having my hair colored that I ended up damaging it There was at this point in my life when I was probably consuming half a bottle of conditioner every time I take a bath.
I then tried the Bench Fix's Digiperm. I hate to admit that Azta's was better. Way better. Bench Fix's Digiperm did not look like it was digitally done. In fact, it looks just the same as their traditional perm.
So last March, I went back to Azta. This time, at their branch in SM Jazz, Makati.
Azta Urban Salon, SM Jazz Residences |
Chris was the one who permed my hair in March. He has done a very good job in terms of achieving the wavy look that didn't look like it was done artificially. I noticed that he also placed the curling rods in an upright position, rolling my hair vertically instead of horizontally. This way, the curls were bigger and sexier. He also specifically instructed his assistant not to soak my hair in the chemical for too long. As such, my curls never looked dry. Naturally, I requested for him when I booked an appointment for earlier this afternoon.
Lunch at Azta |
Digiperm takes about 3-4 hours. It's a good thing I brought coffee and tuna pandesal from Coffee Bean since my appointment was at 1230pm (although I arrived at the salon at 130 pm because of the heavy traffic!)
Almost done! |
I finished at exactly 430pm. Although I requested Chris to cut my bangs so as to make my face look less round! Haha.
Now, the final product!
Now, the final product!
I am very happy with Azta. Especially their branch in SM Jazz. Do visit them if you want gorgeous curls as well!
