Just like that, the first month of 2016 is coming to an end. Indeed, time flies when..... you have deadlines to meet.
I spent the last working weekday (well for some, not in my case though) doing very adult stuff. As most of you may know, I put off working until the results of the Bar Exams come out. While waiting, I promise to tick off as many items as I can in my to-do list. Things that I have never done while I was still studying. But instead of YOLO-ing during this period, I too want to make the most out of this hiatus.
Earlier, I attended a seminar hosted by COL Financial. The seminar focused on the difference between investing in the stock market and investing in mutual funds. I dragged myself to the seminar, thinking that I would not really enjoy it. I complained about the traffic I had to endure on my way to the venue.
Thankfully, I managed to fight my laziness. The entire seminar opened up my world to new things, things I wish I had known when I was only eighteen.
The seminar helped me realize the value of money. True, it is not wise to work just so you can spend these on things that you do not truly need. It is paramount that we too think of the future.
Somehow, the seminar made me reconsider the goals that I have set for myself for 2016. I initially wanted to explore the world this year, travel to new places, meet new people and discover the world. Recent experiences, however, made me realize that I am not getting any younger. I too need to settle down. So maybe this year, I will work towards attaining financial freedom.
Indeed, welcome to the world of adulthood!
